BIOGRAPHY
The son of a nurse and a teacher, Alex O’Loughlin always wanted to be an actor. He started as a teenager by acting in short films and amateur plays. It was in 2002 that he entered the prestigious National Institute of Drama Art in Sydney. He then began his professional career in the theater, playing Shakespeare , Tolstoy and Chekhov and appearing in advertising spots. He then appeared in 2003 in the Australian series Pacific Homicide and in the television film BlackJack: Sweet Science .
It was the following year that his career began to take off. He first starred in the Australian drama Oyster Farmer , in which he played the lead role.
In 2005, he wrote, produced and starred as Michael Carter in the disturbing Feed , directed by Brett Leonard . The two men teamed up again that same year for the film Man-Thing . It was at this time that Alex O’Loughlin dreamed of being James Bond for Casino Royale and passed tests, but the role of agent 007 went to a certain Daniel Craig .
We find the Australian in 2007 in the United States. Leaving his son on the Australian island, he arrives in Los Angeles. Very quickly, he joined the cast of The Shield for season 6 and will have the main role in the series, Moonlight . Unfortunately, the latter was canceled after just one season. He returned to the big screen in 2008 with Robin Williams and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers for the film August Rush . In 2009, he joined a new series, in which he obtained one of the main roles: Three Rivers . But it was canceled after 13 episodes. It was that year that he appeared in Dominic Sena ‘s feature film , Whiteout .
We find the actor in 2010 alongside Jennifer Lopez for the romantic comedy Le Plan B. On the television side, he reprises the role of Steve McGarrett in the remake of the series Hawaii State Police .
