BIOGRAPHY
Son of a housekeeper and a Senegalese worker, Birane Ba fell in love with theater in college thanks to a French teacher. Wanting to break into this discipline, he entered, alongside his high school and BTS years, the municipal conservatory of Vernon, then the regional conservatory of Rouen. He then went to Paris to join the Cours Florent and the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art.

In 2019, Birane made her dream come true by becoming a resident of the Comédie-Française. From then on, he played in numerous plays, such as Les Fourberies de Scapin by Molière , Bajazet by Racine , La Vie de Galilée by Bertold Brecht (both directed by Eric Ruf , the director of the prestigious institution which plays Richelieu in The Three Musketeers ) or even The Flea in the Ear by Georges Feydeau .

In front of the camera, Birane Ba appears furtively in the drama La Prière directed by the very fashionable Anthony Bajon , then in L’Hommefaithful by Louis Garrel . He then starred in an episode of Nu , then found a larger role in Sentinelles , which follows a group of French soldiers in Mali at the time of Operation Barkhane. More precisely, he plays Martial Mendy, an idealistic, clear-sighted and thoughtful young corporal.

Asked, Birane takes part in the Netflix shock film Athena , where a city descends into a deadly riot. In 2023, he joins the four-star cast of the powerful drama I will always see your faces , and plays one of the characters in the mini-series Transatlantic . The latter takes us into the 1940s, in Marseille, and follows women and men seeking to help more than 2,000 refugees flee occupied France.
