BIOGRAPHY
Born in Georgia but growing up in the Bronx, Desmond Harrington spent his schooling without a Catholic school then, with his diploma in hand, joined Manhattan College before finally abandoning his studies after a few weeks. Not knowing what to do, he does several odd jobs, including that of a bartender in Manhattan, where one of his colleagues suggests that he take part in a theater class… A seemingly innocuous experience but which considerably changes the young man’s destiny.

Desmond Harrington began his acting career in the cinema with small roles, notably in Joan of Arc by Luc Besson (1999) or We Were Soldiers (2002) worn by Mel Gibson . At the same time, the actor portrays three central characters in three small, more or less effective B series: the thriller The Hole (2001) where he plays a high school student with devastating charm for whom the very fashionable Thora Birch falls for; the (very poorly received) ghost film The Ship of Anguish (2003) and the horrific Mortal Detour (id.), where he slips into the shoes of a doctor in training trapped in a forest inhabited by cannibals.

His film career not taking off, Desmond headed towards the small screen. Thus, after obtaining recurring roles in the little-known Dragnet and Sons & Daughters , he appeared in the series Rescue me for 8 episodes. But it was in 2008 that his career took a fundamental turning point. Indeed, the actor is chosen to play detective Joey Quinn from the third season of the cult series Dexter . The same year, he played a guest role in Gossip Girl , that of the uncle of Ed Westwick ‘s character .

At the same time as this television surge, Desmond Harrington appears in films almost unknown in France ( TiMER , Life Is Hot in Cracktown , An Almost Perfect Marriage ), with the exception of the blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises where he appears for a few seconds.
