BIOGRAPHY
Born on February 21, 1987 in Halifax (Canada), Elliot Page was only ten years old when he made his debut in front of the camera, in the TV movie Pit Pony , where his performance earned him a nomination for the Gemini Awards for Best Actress. A reward that he subsequently obtained twice, for his roles in the series ReGenesis , as well as in the TV film Mrs Ashboro’s Cat . In the meantime, it was possible to see his face on the big screen, thanks to Love That Boy (2003), then Marion Bridge (2002), crowned with the Best Canadian Film Award at the Toronto Festival, and which earned him the ACTRA Maritimes Award for Best Actress.

In 2006, after having included his name in the credits of Rebelle Adolescence and Wilby Wonderful , he took on a real challenge for an actor of his age, and slipped into the skin of a teenager who takes a pedophile into his own trap: his performance makes Hard Candy a little more terrifying still, and David Slade ‘s film met with significant success during its presentation at the Sundance Film Festival. The following year, Elliot Page made his first stop on the “blockbuster” box, and played Kitty Pryde, a young girl capable of passing through walls in X-Men: The Last Stand . A role that he will reprise 8 years later in X-Men: Days of Future Past , which sends Wolverine into the past to change a major historical event.

In the meantime, his real revelation to the general public took place with Juno (2008), the second film by Jason Reitman ( Thank You for Smoking ), in which he played the title role. Her performance was unanimously acclaimed, to the point of earning her numerous awards, as well as a nomination for the Golden Globes (Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical) and the Oscars (Best Actress). Elliot Page then starred opposite Catherine Keener ( An American Crime ), as well as Dennis Quaid , Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Haden Church in Smart People (2009).

Often where he is least expected and leading a career as brilliant as it is atypical, the young actor shines in both large productions and in independent films, some of which have remained unpublished in France. We meet him in Inception (2010) by Christopher Nolan where he assists Leonardo DiCaprioin his mission to infiltrate the mind of an individual, as a slightly rebellious teenager in Drew Barrymore ‘s first film which explores the little-known world of roller derby ( Bliss , 2010), as a lover in To Rome With Love (2012 ) by Woody Allen or as a member of a small eco-terrorist group in The East (2013), directed by the creator of The OA . In 2017, he is a medical student who plays with death in the remake of The Forbidden Experiment .

Since 2019, his career has continued mainly in television series, such as The San Francisco Chronicles but especially Umbrella Academy , a superhero series adapted from the comics of Gerard Way, the singer of My Chemical Romance. An actor committed to the rights of women and the LGBT community, he announced on December 1, 2020 that he was coming out as transgender and changed his first name.
