John Squires Obituary, Death – John was a member of the Fredericktown High School class of 1953 and graduated with honors. After completing his high school education, John enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country. His occupation was that of a brick mason, and he ran his own company for a considerable amount of time.

Spending time with his granddaughter, playing cards, putting together puzzles, visiting museums, and spending time watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and NFL Football were all activities that he enjoyed doing. Not only did he appreciate getting “Great Deals” on tools at auctions, but he also enjoyed doing so even if he did not require them.
Those who are left behind after John’s passing include his sons, Allen Squires and Rodney (Lynette) Squires, as well as his granddaughter, Kaylie Squires.

Not only did John’s parents pass away before him, but also his wife, Betty Sue Squires, and his sister, Ester Marie Chapman, both passed away before him. Calling hours will be conducted on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM, and the funeral ceremony will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 11 AM. The funeral service will take place in the Snyder Funeral Home Fredericktown Chapel, which is located at 33 E. College Street, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019.

Evangelist Troy Norhtrop will minister at the service. The funeral service will be followed by a burial in Forest Cemetery, where the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will provide military honors. To honor the memory of John and Sue Squires, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Knox County, which is located at 17000 Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 45050.
