BIOGRAPHY
Zazie Beetz was born in Berlin, Germany, on June 1, 1991. Her father, a German-born cabinetmaker; and her mother, an African-American social worker. From a very young age she showed her interest in acting by participating in community theaters and local stages. She grew up in Manhattan, speaking German and English at home. She studied at Muscota New School, Harlem School of Arts and LaGuardia Arts High School. Languages, acting and traveling have always been her passion.
She moved to Paris to study for a bachelor’s degree in French at Skidmore College. She debuted in the short film The Crocotta (2013). She participated in the Netflix series Easy . She is known for participating in projects such as Atlanta (2016), Applesauce (2015) and Finding Her (2017).
She currently resides in Harlem, where she has been working on several films filmed in New York. Among her latest projects we find Against All Enemies , Deadpool 2 and High Flying Bird.
